What to do when you’re wondering what to do

CrossFit doesn’t end in the box.  Many of you said to me, or posted, how you were able to move, lift, carry, walk, hike, etc. better because of CrossFit.  That’s a huge compliment to pay, but the credit is all yours.  But what do you do when you want to get better at CrossFit without coming into the box?  Many of the same movements we do in here, at high intensity, can be done at home or in the office when you just want to move around.  It’s the practice you do outside of the box that will pay off inside.

SQUAT, SQUAT, SQUAT…Anytime, anywhere.  You all know what correct squat form looks like.  And like everything else, it will become easier and automatic the more you practice.  You don’t have to turn a simple squat into an AMRAP or Rounds for time (although its always cooler when you do), you just need to do it.  Talk it slow and work yourself into correct form without some “meathead” screaming at you to find your heels.  Find where the bottom position is, feel where your balance point is on your heels and really focus on your form at your pace.  You will be amazed at the difference a little work can do.
